Q: I own some land with pine trees that will be harvested in the future. I heard about an upcoming local workshop for landowners with timberland related to security issues such as trespassing and timber theft. Can you provide some information on this workshop?
A: Some landowners, especially those who don’t reside on their land, may be at risk of losses or costs resulting from trespass, timber theft, dumping, drug farming, wildfire, arson, or other property violations. The Forest Stewardship Workshop: Timberland Security for Landowners will help landowners be more aware of security risks and take steps to minimize them.
This workshop will be held September 27th, 9am to 2pm at Gum Creek Road in Baker Florida.
A $10 fee covers lunch and materials. Please register on-line at
